24 is an American television action series that starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, an agent for a US government agency known as the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU). Each season encompassed a 24 hour period (hence the series' title) in Jack Bauer's life as he attempted to thwart a dire threat to the country and events during each episode occurred in real time (including commercial breaks). The series, which aired on the FOX network as a regular series for eight seasons from 2001 to 2010, also inspired a video game (24: The Game) and a television movie (24: Redemption). In May of 2014, 24 returned to television as a limited series with 24: Live Another Day.
