Shin Ultraman (シン・ウルトラマン, Shin Urutoraman) is a 2022 Tsuburaya Productions film co-produced with Toho and Khara. Made as a 55th anniversary film for the long running Ultraman television franchise, the movie was originally slated for a 2021 release but got delayed to a 2022 release due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Shin Ultraman serves as a movie adaption of the original 1966 Ultraman show. The story follows the S-Class Species Suppression Protocol or SSSP for short, a group who study giant monsters or kaiju as they try to uncover the mystery of a giant alien silver humanoid superhero who protects Japan from several invading monsters, unaware that one of their own members, Shinji Kaminaga (Takumi Saitoh), is the host of the otherworldly protector from the stars and can transform into him when the citizens of the Japan need a hero to save them, living not quite as either human nor alien but something in between.
The following weapons were used in the film Shin Ultraman:
Handguns
Minebea P9
As the alien Zarab sits in the car and gloats about his plans for invading the Earth, Shinji Kaminaga/Ultraman (Takumi Saitoh) points a Minebea P9 pistol at the bizarre "flat" space man, threatening to shoot him.
Assault Rifles
Howa Type 89
The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force are called in to investigate the mysterious appearance of a giant woman walking around the city. They move into position with their Howa Type 89 awaiting orders to open fire if the mysterious woman proves to be hostile.
Machine Guns
Browning M2
Several Type 10 tanks and Isuzu Type 82 are seen armed with Browning M2 heavy machine guns throughout the film.
Autocannons
Oerlikon KBA
Several Type 87 RCV can be seen armed with Oerlikon Contraves KBA autocannons getting ready for a potential confrontation with one of the alien invaders.
Launchers
M270 MLRS
A M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System can be seen early in the film during a montage, getting ready to fire at a monster.
