Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker is the 2006 film adaptation of the young adult novel Stormbreaker, the first in the Alex Rider series of teen thrillers by Anthony Horowitz, who also wrote the film's screenplay. The hero is Alex Rider, a teenage British boy who finds out that his uncle was an operative for the British MI6, which recruits him to finish the mission his uncle was killed on.
The following firearms were used in the film Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker:
Handguns
Beretta 92FS Inox
Contract killer Yassen Gregorovich (Damian Lewis) uses twin Beretta 92FS Inox pistols as his sidearms. He uses these twice in the film, both while hanging upside down from a helicopter (N.B. In the graphic novel version, the weapon he uses to kill Sayle is a VSS Vintorez).
Desert Eagle
Darrius Sayle (Mickey Rourke) is seen at the end of the film with a Desert Eagle pistol.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
SAS troopers carry Heckler & Koch MP5A3 submachine guns during the training sequences, as do Police Armed Response units at the end of the film.
Rifles
Heckler & Koch G36C
The men who chase Ian Rider (Ewan McGregor) at the film's beginning as well as Sayle's guards at the Stormbreaker computer factory carry Heckler & Koch G36C rifles.
L85A1
SAS soldiers at the Brecon Beacons training camp carry L85A1 assault rifles.
Colt Model 727
SAS soldiers at the Brecon Beacons training camp are seen training with what appear to be Colt Model 727 carbines. The SAS team guarding the Prime Minister at the Science Museum also carries these, and their leader, Wolf (Ashley Walters) tosses his to Alex (Alex Pettyfer), which Alex uses. The carbines are most likely used in lieu of the Colt Canada C8, the rifle the Special Air Service actually uses.
Remington 700 AICS
Police Armed Response units also are seen armed with the Remington 700 AICS sniper rifle.
Shotguns
Remington 870
Police Armed Response units at the end of the film are seen armed with Remington 870 shotguns.
Mossberg 500
Other members of the Police Armed Response are seen armed with Mossberg 500 shotguns.
Other
Browning M2
A Browning M2 HB is prominently seen mounted on top of a transport being driven to the Stormbreaker computer factory.
FIM-92A Stinger
One of the men on the boat chasing Ian Rider (Ewan McGregor) is armed with an FIM-92A Stinger.
