A Beautiful Mind is a 2001 biographical drama directed by Ron Howard and starring Russell Crowe as John Nash, a mathematics genius who also suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. When he is recruited by the US government to decipher uncrackable codes, Nash then believes he's being pursued by mysterious operatives. The cast included Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris. A Beautiful Mind would subsequently be nominated for eight Academy Awards and would receive four, including the Award for Best Picture, Best Director for Howard, and Best Supporting Actress for Connelly.
