The Tokarev AT-44 (Russian: Автомат Токарева АТ-44, "Tokarev assault rifle AT-44"). In order to develop models of small arms chambered for the new 7.62x41 cartridge, many projects from various organizations were launched, including F.V. Tokarev wanted to develop an assault rifle. At this time, F.V. Tokarev no longer worked in Tula - in February 1943 from Zlatoust, where he was evacuated together with part of the engineering and technical staff of TsKB-14, he was transferred to Moscow, to OKB-16 (now - A.E.
