The Last House on the Left is a 1972 cult horror film written and directed by Wes Craven (Scream). The film was banned in the UK for many decades because of its graphic depiction of violence against women. A remake of the film was released in 2009 and starred Garret Dillahunt and Tony Goldwyn.
