The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the 2014 sequel to 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield returns as Peter Parker, who must battle several new threats. Emma Stone and Sally Field reprise their roles for the sequel and the cast also included Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti. The film would be the last of this cycle of Spider-Man films and Spider-Man was once again "rebooted" for a new series of feature films, this time set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and with Tom Holland as Parker, beginning with an appearance in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and then in his series of standalone films, which includes Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home as well as 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, for which Garfield would reprise his role from this film.
