The Three Musketeers (1953)
|
The Three Musketeers is a 1953 French-Italian movie directed by André Hunebelle based of the novels of Alexandre Dumas and was shot and projected in color, which was not common at the time. In the summer of 1632 during the reign of Louis XIII, D'Artagnan travels from his native Gascony to Paris to join the king's musketeer regiment. But before he knows it, Athos, Aramis, and Porthos challenge him to a duel, which ends in a joint victorious battle against Cardinal Richelieu's guards. But soon they are defending the honor of their queen Anna.
The following weapons were used in the film The Three Musketeers:
Pistols
Flintlock Pistol
Flintlock Pistols are carried by some of the Cardinal Richelieu's (Renaud Mary) guards.
Chatellerault Mle. 1822
When the flintlock pistols are taken by Planchet (Bourvil) they turn into an anachronistic Chatellerault Cavalry Model 1822.
Muskets
Wheellock Musket
Four guards of the cardinal are seen with Wheellock Muskets.
