Documentary

This film is categorized in IMDB as a documentary. It was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best History Documentary Program in 2005. As a documentary, it should be reviewed for eligibility for a page in IMFDB. LJ (talk) 18:08, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

I think this page should be allowed since its cataloguing dramatizations with prop weapons. The rule against documentaries is understandably done to prevent writing pages on real world documentary footage, but that is not the case here.--AgentGumby (talk) 13:22, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
The moratorium on documentaries allows a waiver if a waiver is sought beforehand. In this case the page was started with (apparently) no waiver sought, and the genre section of the TV template conspicuously lacking "documentary". IMO it looks like an attempt to circumvent the moratorium. If the page gets nuked, the page goes away and the code will probably be copied to this Talk page, so the work put forth to date is not wasted. LJ (talk) 20:32, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
discussed this with Funkychinaman on the Discord server and he doesn't have an issue with the page. He also mentioned Kokoda (2010) as another example. I highly doubt Dr Luika was maliciously circumventing the rules here as well.--AgentGumby (talk) 12:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
The Kokoda (2010) page was started in 2011, probably before the moratorium, hence not a good example. But if the admins have decided, so be it, it's time to move on. LJ (talk) 18:59, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
