Chaim Topol, commonly credited as simply Topol, (1935-2023) was an Israeli actor/writer/producer, most famous for portraying Tevye in various stage versions as well as the festure film adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof. He also appeared in such features as Flash Gordon (1980) and the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. He passed away in 2023 at the age of 87.
