The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is a 2005 neo-Western drama that focuses on the mystery of the death of a young Mexican man near the US-Mexico border. The film was inspired by the real-life killing of American teenager Esequiel Hernández Jr. by US Marines in 1997. The film was directed by and stars Tommy Lee Jones.

In the beginning of the film, two hunters hunting with Winchester Model 70s find the body of Melquiades Estrada (Julio Cedillo).

Savage 99
A Savage 99 is used by Sheriff Belmont to try and shoot Pete Perkins as he is riding along, but he loses face and doesn't take the shot.
Ruger Mini-14
A Ruger Mini-14 along with another rifle are seen alongside several ranchers in Mexico. This firearm would theoretically be illegal to own in Mexico, being chambered in .223 Remington - which is a "military type" caliber, as all "military" calibers are banned in Mexico for civilian use (unless it were in 6.8 SPC or .222 Remington, which are two calibers offered by Ruger in Mexico).
