|
The House of the Dead III is a first-person light gun shooter horror arcade game and the third installment in The House of the Dead series of video games, developed by Wow Entertainment and Sega. Released to arcades in 2002, it was later ported to the Xbox in 2003, Microsoft Windows in 2005, the Wii in 2008 in a compilation with The House of the Dead 2, and PlayStation 3 in 2012 with PlayStation Move support. The game was remade with typing controls as The Typing of the Dead 2 in 2008. The game continues the story of the previous games and introduces new gameplay concepts such as story branching. The game's protagonist is Lisa Rogan, daughter of Thomas Rogan and Sophie Richards.
The following weapons appear in the video game The House of the Dead III:
Pistols
M1911 Variant
Unknown M1911 variants are seen in the leg holsters of Thomas Rogan's mercenary units including Dan Taylor, last survivor of a mercenary unit and one of the protagonists.
This handgun resembles the M45 / MEU(SOC), which has a blackened frame and blackened grip with gold medallion. Unlike previous games, the protagonists are never use a handgun.
Beretta Cougar Inox
During a flashback to the second game in the opening movie, AMS agents James Taylor, Amy Crystal, and Harry Harris uses Beretta Cougar Inox pistols.
Fictional Handgun
During a flashback to the first game in the opening movie, AMS agent "G" uses a fictional handgun called the "AMS EATER Custom", the main weapons of The House of the Dead 1. According to the first game's guide book, The House of the Dead Official Guide, it is a heavily modified fictional handgun converted from 9x19mm to .50 AE. It is also equipped with an enlarged ambidextrous safety lever, magazine release, and single-column 6 rounds magazine. The render's official artwork resembles a custom M1911, similar to a Colt Mk IV Series 80 Combat Elite.
Shotguns
Benelli M3 Super 90 Shorty
In the beta build of the arcade version, the protagonists' shotguns are Benelli M3 Super 90 Shortys. According to several beta movies, it holds five rounds, instead of six rounds in the final version.
The Benelli M3 Super 90 Shorty is still seen in the final version's opening and chapter loading movies (because these movies are pre-rendered from beta builds).
Franchi SPAS-12
In the final version, the protagonists and Thomas Rogan's mercenary units uses modified short-barreled Franchi SPAS-12s fitted with built-in weapon light foreend. It hold six rounds (like previous games' handguns) and also appears as the game's gun controller.
