Colonel Everett Young using a G36 as a crutch onboard the Destiny not a UMP, and a UMP is to short to be used as a crutch

im not quite sure where to post this, but as we never see Colonel Young reload the UMP, where exactly does he keep the mags?, i only ask because the vest they all use carry M4/G36 mags. -- Sike

That's the weird part too. It seems he is the only one with the UMP, so in a later episode of season 2, what's his face stole a UMP from the armory. So unless there were more than one, Young is now without his UMP and so where would he reloads be? They are on a ship with only the weapons and ammo they were carrying. Excalibur01 20:31, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

same with his P14, afaik i only saw one and that got left on the seed ship with tellford -- [[User:Sike|Sike]

It is justifiable if there is only one UMP and it appeared again, as Rush was wearing a large rucksack when he arrived back at the gate. As they made the point of stating that he had retrieved the second Kino remote from Simeon, it appears that he did some degree of scavenging of equipment from his body. In the shot of the armoury, it is true that we only see 1 UMP, but we also only see about 5 each of M4s and G36s, and I think more than this have appeared on screen at one time, so there could be more guns in lockers or whatever. As for how they carry the magazines, I had the same problem with the P90s on SG-1, particularly as the vests they used were the Medic/Utility version of the Blachawk Omega vest, which has no magazine pouches at all. There were occasions where we saw actual reloads of the P90, and on these occasions they simply pulled a magazine out of the inside of the vest, implying that there was an internal sleeve (which I believe was shown to hold armour plates in "Heroes"). The only time that SG-1 has a pouch capable of actually carrying the magazines they use is in the early days of MP5s, when they more a Blackhawk Omega triple MP5 pouch on their left thigh. --Commando552 17:52, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
Forget the first part of that, just watching it again and Simeon is already through the gate with a G36K and UMP, and Colonel Young is standing in the gateroom with a UMP, so there are multiple ones. --Commando552 20:56, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
Greer uses a UMP in Episode 10 of Season 2. -- Sike

I am starting to see why, in story, they wouldn't be shooting off their guns in epic gun fights because they don't have an unlimited supply of ammo provided but since this is a TV show based on a series that is all about gun fights...it is a serious let down we don't see more action Excalibur01 16:15, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

For the sake of the story, I think they need an episode where they are able to open a one time wormhole from our galaxy for 30 seconds or something before they run out of power, and just push through half a dozen palletised loads of weapons, ammunition and supplies, maybe throw a couple of new personnel through too. It would be nice for them to have some sort of heavy weapons like AT-4s or grenade launchers, would open up some new story options and hopefully liven things up. --Commando552 17:52, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

i remember someone mentioning in an interview that there would be much more action in season 2

Could someone help me identify a gun??

On the man lying down (Colonel Young) he has a gun in the cross draw holster and i think it looks alot like a 1911 but i'm not sure so if anyone could help :D

Beretta 92FS.-protoAuthor
Are you sure? I don't think it looks like a Beretta....
Not sure entirely.-protoAuthor
Looks alot like a Beretta Cougar-S&Wshooter 19:20, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Custom M1911. It looks alot like one of my guns. MoviePropMaster2008 20:41, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
The gun's grip looks EXACTLY like the one off of a Cougar-S&Wshooter 21:58, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
You said that already. At any rate, when the show actually airs, we'll get better looks at the sidearms anyway. :) MoviePropMaster2008 19:38, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Definetely not a 1911 grips to wide and bulky

could it be a Para Ordnance varient

Yeah, my first thought is a double stack 1911. The grip looks a bit like my Kimber BP Ten II, but this is obviously a full size pistol. Take a look at this Para Ordnance P14-45. You can almost see the beaver-tail grip safety in the shadow and the barrel looks like a 1911, definitely not a Beretta. Looks pretty damn exact if you ask me... Eagleye1022

We can say that it is a 1911 from a production still... added the picture and the 1911 to the article--Colonel Swede 15:16, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Jackson uses a 1911 in ep18 of 1st season, probably the same p14, judging by sights. --Iceman (talk) 11:18, 10 July 2013 (EDT)--Iceman (talk) 11:18, 10 July 2013 (EDT)

So is this Stargate done ala Battlestar Galactica?

Do I smell dark sets, moody lighting, grainy footage, shaky hand held camera work with snap zooms, edgy morbid themes? MoviePropMaster2008 20:40, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes. And silly looking aliens.-Oliveira 21:56, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Well BSG didn't have silly looking aliens. Plus all those shaky hand held camera action and rock music are for the trailers and promo. We'll have to see. I am NOT so sure about this new guy who seemed like a random kid they took from a teen comedy movie. I mean, almost all the characters are too young to be in Stargate. We're our Shepard/Cameron character? Where's our sexy or tough alien team member? Where's our fearless leader? Excalibur01 02:29, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, I think the whole point of this series is to show what would happen when you took people pseudo trained for off world exploration and left them without leaders. They wanted to make this show more about the human element. That's probably why they don't have any battle hardened fearless leader types, because they're not supposed to be. Gunkatas 19:40, 11 October 2009 (SMT)
There may be more drama, but at the cost of believability. There are plenty of moments of brain-bendingly stupid or incompetent behaviour in this show (very little of which happened when Richard Dean Anderson, or Ben Browder, or the cast of Atlantis were at the helm), especially on the civilian side. Sometimes I wish there was a character like Galen Tyrol from BSG (played by Aaron Douglas--he needs his own page with his own new Canadian show "The Bridge") to get up and scream "This is not a democracy! We follow the LT!" into some of the civilian's ears, as he did in Season 2 of nBSG. --Mazryonh 17:00, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Screen caps up

Most are from promo photos, but a couple are from trailers. Have yet to see one P90 Excalibur01 02:27, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

And the first episodes of this new series is out. Not too exciting and not one gun fired in the entire episode. Disappointing already Excalibur01 14:46, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Screen cap

I'm just wondering what program are used to get the screen caps??

Well I download the episode and my player, which is Jet Audio, has a button you press for screen caps. I have to time it cause there's a delay in the button, but that aside, it works pretty well. I have to watch out for which kind of file I save it under. And whoever you are, don't forget to use "Excalibur01 14:45, 6 October 2009 (UTC)" to sign your username so we know who said what. Excalibur01 14:45, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Air III: M9

While watching Air III i noticed that Greer chambered his M9 several times without shooting it inbetween. First when he draw it on Rush when they begin brawling over water and then later when he gives it to Eli. --Colonel Swede 16:25, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Number of weapons

I remember that in the season premier, they were counting the guns and said that including sidearms, they only had 23 with them. I guess this limits the guns to what we have already seen on the show so far. --Gunkatas 19:48, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

I remember Greer saying 40 something --Colonel Swede 12:15, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

It is 23. I recorded Air 1 and played it back. At first I thought Greer said 43 but it's 23. Bad Boy

P90

I removed the P90 until it is seen on the show --Colonel Swede 12:15, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Saw the P90 on the Stargate magazine a month ago. It will be on the show. They just haven't aired it yet. I put the P90 section as a placeholder to save me TIME. Excalibur01
I caught sight of some P90's in the episode "Metamorphosis", though some of the characters were handling them in ways that made me want to tear my hair out, such as holding it by the stock instead of the integrated foregrip. Dumbass was lucky his hand didn't get burned by spent brass falling out the ejection chute. Orca1 9904 05:23, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
you sure you were watching SGU? afaik there was no SGU episode called "Metamorphosis" --Sike 10:31, 13 October 2011 (CDT)

Check out this video

Just released last week, armorer Rob Fournier shows off some of the weapons used on the episode "Time".

"It's called a mag. A clip is something women use to put in their hair." Ha. Love it. Very nice.--Gunkatas 04:44, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

This is a great video, this guy know his stuff, except when he mis-identify the G36K as the KV. Look like there will be dual sight G36Ks coming. Didn't the guy clearly stated that the UMP fire .45 ACP rounds? How come the UMP section says .40 instead? --Wildcards 07:55, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

The "KV" is what H&K calls the export version of the G36K now, so he actually got it correct. As for the UMP section, that's a mistake on the part of the person who wrote the section. -MT2008 14:22, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
But the G36K he got in his hand clearly got dual sight, so it can't be the KV right? --Wildcards 17:01, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Nope, because the carry handle/sights are easily replaceable. The only difference between the German military-issue G36s and the Export models is that the Bundeswehr gets the dual sights for free, while export customers have to pay extra for it. The only way to know the difference for sure is by looking at what it says on the receiver. But any movie or TV show filmed outside of Germany will be using export models (including this show, which is filmed in Canada), so short answer is that the G36Ks in this show would have to be the KV model. -MT2008 19:01, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
I put down that the UMP is a .40 because it's hard to tell because both the .40 and the .45 UMPs uses the straight magazine. So if it is IDed by the armorer that it is a .45, then change it. I just lost my torrent site for movies, and TV shows, so until I find a new one, I won't be capping a lot anymore. Excalibur01 01:19, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

It is a .45. At first I thought the armorer said .40 which is what I put down but it was very late at night and I didn't hear it well enough. My bad on that one. Also, whoever put the weapon holds 27 rounds and the armorer are wrong: The UMP .45 holds 25 rounds standard while the .40 and 9mm hold 30. Bad Boy

So is it a .40 or a .45? In the video the armorer said that it held 30 rounds. I'm guessing that 'officially' it is a .45 in the stargate universe but it's really a .40 so that they can have longer shooting sequences with it. My guess though.--Gunkatas 17:03, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Well in the video, the Armorer, say it fires a .45, but he also said it held 27 rounds. Maybe he got it mixed up. Excalibur01

The Lucian Alliance

I see that the Lucian Alliance are using Chinese QBZ-95's and I'm sure I spotted a Saiga 12 along the way too, can anyone get screencaps and confirmation on this? --ShootoutWithDave 18:55, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

It's the Norinco type 97 since it's made in Canada. Dont think I saw a Saiga. Care to point out which scene had it? Excalibur01 13:42, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Ah well spotted, I knew they was some form of Chinese assault rifle. I'll attempt to locate the scene with it and get back to you. --ShootoutWithDave 18:55, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

It's odd since we can assume this is the same armorer that armed all the Stargate series, not one single P90 in sight. I swore i saw TJ with a P90 in a magazine once Excalibur01 02:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

M16

during the new episode (sesion two episode 3 Awakening) i saw a M16A2 or A4 with a M203 can some one get a screen shot

Just rewatched the episode and didn't see any M16s or M203s, can you narrow down who was carrying it or when in the episode it was? The closest thing I saw was that the nameless soldiers carry M4s which sometimes have a torch on an offset mount on the side, which from certain angles could possibly look like an M203 at a glance.--Commando552 22:08, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Sguawak1.jpg

i will have to rewatch it but there is a M16 with M203 i just forgety where it is and you can only see it for a second and it is held by a unnamed marine

ok it is held when they first find the weird alean and it is being escorted to te stARGATE IN FORCE so it can be brought back to earth --Armyguy277 22:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

and it is a M16A2 here is what it looked like when i saw it --Armyguy277 22:31, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

M16A2 M203.jpg

In total, the only armed people on the seeder ship are Scott and Greer with G36Ks, TJ with an M9, Telford with a .45 pistol of some sort (think a P-14), and Dunning and Marsden who are both carrying M4 type weapons with retractable stocks, RIS fore-ends and flashlights. Unless the version I am watching is slightly cut down, there is no M16 or M203 in this episode.--Commando552 22:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
I'll take a look at the episode again. You say it was when they were taking the alien back to the Destiny and one of the guards had it? Excalibur01 01:35, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
I think I see a scene, but it looks like it could possibly be an M4 with an M203 because the scene where they had found the alien and it was sitting on the floor, one of the Marines appears to have an M4 with an M203. They never focus it at all but they do focus on the soldiers upper chest area and they had the M4 stocks, so it could be an M4 with an M203. Then again, it is REALLY hard to tell because the camera was not focused on this guy at all. Excalibur01 02:07, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Sguawakm4.jpg
This is an image of Marsden's weapon just as the alien escapes. I can see how you might think it is an M203 as it is never clearly shown, but am 99% sure it is a tac-light or something that it mounted on the right side rail of his weapon, but is using an offset mount so that it looks like it is beneath, like the weapons the guards have in the cap I posted earlier.--Commando552 08:31, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Sguawakm43.jpg
Here is a better shot of it showing that whatever is on it is mounted on the side, and has shiny glass at the front of it.--Commando552 08:42, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Sguawakm42.jpg
And for completeness, here is Dunning's rifle. As you can see, same deal just a flashlight.--Commando552 08:42, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

It would be nice to see different weapons. I know it's the military, but some variations would be nice. I miss the P90 Excalibur01 17:52, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Also, the stranded in another galaxy thing makes logistics tricky.--Commando552 18:08, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Good point, but we can just suspend disbelief that a majority of the Marines had standard weapons, but a handful could of had MP5s, or shotguns, etc Excalibur01 18:24, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

unknown scoped rifle

during the newest SGU episiode (Malice) i saw a unknow scped rifle it was in ther hands of one of the marines woundied by Simeon`s IED --Armyguy277 13:03, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Are you talking about Lt. James' group? All 3 of them are carrying identical M4s with RAS mounted flashlights. I did a double take myself, as during the explosion, as the M4 is flying through the dust the flashlight looks like a scope.--Commando552 00:15, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Vlcsnap-2010-11-21-01h14m51s197.jpg

There was a continuity error in that episode. Either they mixed the G36 with a UMP or the character took 2 primary weapons with him Excalibur01 01:00, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

I think it was the latter, and I think he left the G36 propped up on the ridge with a jacket so they thought he was still there. Didn't see him with a UMP slung prior to this though, but there are no clear shots of his back prior to this point. In the armoury he picks up a UMP and puts it on the table with his supplies just before he loads a G36, so in the logic of the show he could have had it in his backpack. --Commando552 01:16, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

he is using the UMP after the booby trap, i am watching the episode right now

doubled their weapons

in the latest episode, twin destinies, they managed to effectivly double the amount of weapons and ammunition they have. -- Sike 13:22, 16 March 2011 (GMT)

Lucian alliance pistol

Firstly, it isn't the Timecop pistol as used in Stargate Atlantis, as the shape of the shroud at the front in different, as is the general profile of the weapon, and it appears to be made of metal rather than resin or plastic:

SGUSVI2.jpg
Stargate Atlantis pistol

However, it isn't a SVI 1911 either. Firstly, because all SVIs have a straight bottomed trigger guard, as opposed to this gun which has a curved trigger quard. Also, the shape of the back of the pistol grip is wrong, and is much more similar to either a Beretta 92 or a Taurus.

Note the curvature and shaoe of the back of the pistol grip, the shape of the beaver tail, and the lack of a grip safety that indicate this is not an SVI.

Also, if you look at the following screenshot there appear that there is some kind of switch at the top of the pistol grip on the right side of the gun, much like the safety on the Taurus PT99.

Sgu 120 0131.jpg

Lastly, the gun appears to use a double stack magazine, unlike the SVI which is single stack.

Sgu 119 1115.jpg

Although it dosen't help with identifying the gun, her is the only shot of the pistol in profile, showing that it has a large raised portion at the back which appears to be some kind of sight.

Sgu 120 1096.jpg

Anyone see anything in these screenshots that I don't that imply this is anything other than a dressed up Taurus PT99? --commando552 05:01, 21 March 2011 (CDT)

Season 2 Episode 15

Just watched this, saw a few new guns, AKS-74u with no magazine, and i think maybe Visually Modified Thompson with 20rd magazines as well as a Luger P8(maybe a Walther P38)? it didn't see much screen time Sike 10:23, 5 April 2011 (CDT)

Unknown Rocket launcher

In the episode "Blockade", Varro (Mike Dopud)is seen arming and firing an unknown and possibly fictional rocket launcher. The body appears to be a LAW rocket launcher but the barrel is too short. The body of the launcher is black while the barrel is a brushed silver. There is also an unknown sight mounted to the top of the weapon. There is also a flip open cover on the front end of the weapon as well. It is doubtful this is a Stargate Command weapon because it has not been seen until now. Possibly Lucian Alliance weapon, although why they would need a rocket launcher aboard a space ship is anyones guess. Didn't want to post this on the main page for fear that it might be taken down. --Bad Boy 20:04, 4 May 2011 (CDT)

Custom Pistol?

Kiva gives Telford a sidearm that appears to be a custom made 1911. It looks to have a grip that same consistency as that of a Strayer Voigt Infinity 1911. As of now, there are no clear shots of the weapon.

It is one of the "Timecop" Taurus pistols. They get used a lot on the Stargate shows.

No it is not. The grip looks nothing like a Taurus pistol Excalibur01 03:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
