Body armor

Seriously, did humanity just went stupid after the blackout? Body armor, tac-vests, etc. Those things don't degrade unless they are ripped up. Why isn't anyone wearing flak jackets or kevlar? Excalibur01 (talk) 23:17, 24 October 2013 (EDT)

I couldn't agree with you more there had to be an abundance of them so why didn't they grab some my other theory is the one's with strong metal in them were used to make swords or some strong blade.--Balin21 (talk) 09:48, 25 October 2013 (EDT)

I seriously doubt that theory. There are plenty of other metals that can be used to make swords and most likely tons of actual swords and long bladed weapons you can find. The material used in vests wouldn't be used to make swords. Another thing is that the Monroe soldiers have muskets but none of them have bayonets. Excalibur01 (talk) 16:01, 25 October 2013 (EDT)

Your right you think with scavenging for old rifle's they at least find a few bayonets when they found the rifles in museums and your right about the Kevlar blade my bad.--Balin21 (talk) 16:38, 25 October 2013 (EDT)
To be honest, it always bugged me that they used the muzzle loading weapons in the first place. They are all percussion cap fired ones, and I reckon there is probably a lot more 5.56mm and 9mm knocking around in America right now than there are percussion caps, which will also be a hell of a lot more sensitive to getting damp so have a much shorter post apocalyptic shelf life. In a real situation like this, the most common firearm I imagine you would see would be DIY matchlock type weapons made out of random pieces of metal tubing, rather than these museum grade weapons. As to the vests, they wouldn't have been destroyed to make swords as the vast majority of vests in the US will be soft armor only with a kevlar (or comparable material) insert. If they do have plates it is more likely that they will be made of a composite ceramic, metal is pretty old school and comparatively rare these days. --commando552 (talk) 17:25, 25 October 2013 (EDT)I think it is pretty much just a goof as to why they aren't being used these days
Well the show does take place 15+ years after humanity lost the ability to use electronics to make bullets, so all the constant fighting would have most likely used up a LOT of the ammo that's been floating around america and the world and many most likely began hoarding what is left. I am a bit surprised that humanity didn't revert back to pre electric means of making guns and ammo in 15 years. I was half expecting people to be using old percussion revolvers, sharps carbines that load paper into it or other types. There are certainly plenty of those around. Excalibur01 (talk) 22:41, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
Yes, I was about to point out that humanity was making guns and ammo without electricity for much longer than they've been making guns and ammo with. Then again, I heard the show didn't make much sense. --Funkychinaman (talk) 22:51, 30 October 2013 (EDT)

For the first time they finally used Body Armour used by the Texas Rangers when they captured Monroe.--Balin21 (talk) 21:07, 30 October 2013 (EDT)

Unknown Lever rifle

In the second episode when Sheriff Mason's body comes riding into town the gun the guard on the wall is using isn't a Winchester 1300 the barrel too small I can see somewhat of a lever hand guard can anyone ID it?--Balin21 (talk) 17:27, 31 October 2013 (EDT)

Minigun

isn't the M134 electric so how could they use it?--Balin21 (talk) 16:27, 3 November 2013 (EST)

I was going to say, that minigun better be crank operated Excalibur01 (talk) 22:36, 3 November 2013 (EST)

Unknown Ak

In "The Three Amigos", a border guard uses a Ak variant during the episode. Any ideas?

Looks like a regular AKM to me. Palm swell handguards, narrow front sight, bayonet lug on gas block, and stamped receiver with mag well dimple. Only non typical thing is that it isn't fitted with the slant muzzle brake, but this is removable and is quite often not fitted. --commando552 (talk) 18:32, 9 January 2014 (EST)

Unknown Rifle

In "Three Amigos" Dr. Gene Porter wields some kind of rifle can anyone ID?--Balin21 (talk) 13:11, 23 January 2014 (EST)

In "Exposition Boulevard" seems like a Winchester Model 70 or a Remington Model 700, i think.

Glocks in "Revolution"

The Glocks used in the show during the two seasons do not seem to have the "Glock # Austria 9x19" on the slide and is replaced by a blank space. Someone could explain the reason for this?--Lux (talk) 17:36, 4 April 2014 (EDT) -Could be an Airsoft prop Excalibur01 (talk) 02:20, 5 April 2014 (EDT)

Whatever happened to ammunition running out?

It's funny how, after the first season, modern ammunition suddenly became so plentiful that everyone and their grandmother has it to spare. Sure, you could try arguing that the Patriots had huge stockpiles that they brought with them from Gitmo, but that doesn't explain practically everyone all across the country now having semi-auto pistols and assault rifles and using them like there's no tomorrow.
