Browning M2 .50cal HMG's in Quad Mount at German Defense position

Or maybe it's a 20mm flak-vierling, but I'm not sure. The .50 would be easier to get, but it would be anachronistic for Germans to be using an American machine gun.

it's an M45 Madison mount if I'm not mistaken as I'm away from my books. That is four M2HB machine guns with "Tombstone" ammunition boxes on a mechanical mount linked to one trigger for 2,000RPM.Rockwolf66 22:51, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

The M1 garand is never fired

I just did a quick screening of the movie to confirm something: I cant find a single scene in which the M1 Garand rifle is actually fired. The soldiers & paratroopers are seen either just carrying them (Like John Waynes character) or simply points them at the enemy but never firing. The M1 Carbine, (carried by a conspicuously large amount of the troops), seems to have taken over the shooting duties in this movie on the American side. Was there a problem with M1 Garands ability to fire blanks in those days? Or was it a financial & practical issue? Dudester32 (talk) 23:36, 27 May 2016 (EDT)

(The M1 Thompson is also fired)
