Not a Winchester Model 1873
The gun depicted in the movie is not a Winchester Model 1873, as far as i can tell; its receiver lacks the removable side-plates, its bolt is an exposed block-shape, rather than the 1873's rod-shaped bolt, and the 1873 is top-ejecting, whereas the gun in the movie appears to be side-ejecting.

- No, look at how the bolt retract back and has a flat side flush with the receiver that covers the ejection port. I think it is a Marlin, probably a Marlin Model 1894 (more specifically it looks like a 1894C). --commando552 (talk) 14:53, 25 March 2014 (EDT)
