Great movie

I saw this film in 1978 when I was ten. It played on something like three or four screens in the United States and my uncle (a film geek) took me to see it whne we were back east visiting family. The next year I saw Alien and after that I became a life-long fan of Ridley Scott. Even through his lows I always seem to catch his movies. --Jcordell 16:12, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

My dad saw "Alien" when he was seventeen with his older brother (who's now my deadbeat uncle), and he was scared sh*tless. He didn't want see any of the sequels after that. I must say, the The Talented Mr. Ridley did a great job making it. Plus the alien is creepy since it has no eyes and is covered in slime (and I guest the special effects guys just use K-Y Jelly). What did you think of the film when you first saw it? - Swordfish941 14:37, 11 July 2010

1979 was a banner year for me in terms of movies. I was eleven and my parents took me to see Alien, Escape from Alcatrez and my father and I went to Dawn of the Dead. Alien scared the hell out of me. I had just gotten over that movie when I saw Dawn of the Dead. The following year I saw The Shining at the theater. I was an only child and my parents were rather liberal. I should add that my wife and I are much stricter about what we let our kids see. LOL. --Jcordell 17:55, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
