Talk:Chicago Justice

I caught the first two episodes. It was nice seeing Robinette and Melnick again, even though Melnick was still a grade-A bitch. I don't know why they chose to make the lead the son of Ben Stone, seeing there's almost zero chance Michael Moriarty would ever make an appearance. It seems like a wasted opportunity, why not make him related to someone who might actually show up? (The nephew of Jack McCoy?) Did Dick Wolf and Michael Moriarty patch things up? Because by all accounts, his departure from L&O was extremely acrimonious. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:59, 22 May 2017 (EDT)

I actually rather preferred Stone to McCoy myself. That said, I was under the impression Moriarty's beef was more with NBC rather than Wolf.. either way I agree that is rather odd.. I suppose there still could've been reconciliation, but I doubt it. That said, we actually saw Jack's daughter in L&O though I suppose that's a bit too blatant (also don't remember if it was mentioned she was an attorney or not, probably not), anyway I agree maybe a relative of someone else from the L&O universe? Well, anyway, good of ya to report, guess I'll actually make a note to check it myself - Yet another one to add to the list of stuff to watch, bah. StanTheMan (talk) 01:53, 23 May 2017 (EDT)
The first episode continues the story from a Chicago Fire episode, so it feels a bit "off". The second one feels more like a real episode, and they bring back Robinette. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:13, 23 May 2017 (EDT)
Aaaand it's been cancelled. Hey NBC, forget spinoffs like L&O: LA and Chicago Justice, just bring back the effing original L&O already! --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:15, 23 May 2017 (EDT)
Bah! Though I'm not surprised, other things aside it seems just a bit too much 'Chicago' saturation too quickly. That and indeed may as well cut the crap and bring back the one and only L&O. StanTheMan (talk) 13:42, 23 May 2017 (EDT)
They're obviously aware of the demand, otherwise why bring back Robinette, Melnick and Green? Or have Peter Stone be Ben Stone's son? It's like they're actively trying to give us as much of the original L&O without actually giving us the original L&O, and I can't possibly imagine why. SVU is still on and shooting on the same stages, so the infrastructure is still there. Twenty seasons of cast changes means the audience will accept a cheap cast of unknowns. Bringing back L&O is the most logical move, and yet NBC is avoiding it like the plague. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:04, 23 May 2017 (EDT)
