Steyr

You are absolutely right. A lot of Mannlichers were captured from Austro-Hungarian Army in 1914-16 (and in 1917-18 some were captured back). Most interesting is the fact that many of them were rebarreled to use Russian 7.62x54mmR cartridges. So this one could be 8mm or 7.62mm with equal probability. Greg-Z 23:05, 29 November 2011 (CST)

The battleship itself

I had thought about mentioning the armament of the actual battleship, but the Potemkin itself had been scrapped a few years prior, and ship that "played" the Potemkin, the Dvenadsat Apostolov, was a stripped hulk by the time filming started. I think a lot of the naval scenes are just stock footage anyway. If you watch the scenes on board the Potemkin, you'll notice that the ship isn't actually moving, which makes sense if you know that an old hulk was standing in for the Potemkin. Therefore, almost every scene where there are ships moving have to be stock footage. --Funkychinaman 01:30, 30 November 2011 (CST)
