Actually I think it is an M2 fitted with standard rifle sights and (maybe) a 14" barrel. The M3 has a pump foregrip that is much further away from the front of the receiver. The gap on this gun is only about an inch. The regular M2 handguard fits flush against the action, but it seems that this gun is fitted with a Surefire flashlight foregrip, which is offset from the front of the receiver by this amount by use of a spacer as shown here:[1]. --commando552 15:26, 23 March 2011 (CDT)
