Romanzo criminale - La serie ( lit. "Criminal Novel- The Series" - the US release kept the original Italian title; while the UK release shortened it to Romanzo Criminale) is a 2008 Italian crime drama TV series. It is based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Giancarlo De Cataldo, which was previously adapted into a 2005 film. The novel was inspired by the true story of the Banda della Magliana; a crime syndicate that took over Rome in the 1970s.
