Monsters: Dark Continent (2014)

Monsters: Dark Continent is the 2014 sequel to 2010's Monsters. Directed by Tom Green, the sequel is set ten years after the original film and follows some US Army soldiers who are in the Middle East fighting for their lives against the advanced alien warriors.


The following weapons were used in the film Monsters: Dark Continent:


Rifles/Carbines

M4A1 Carbine

As in reality, the M4A1 Carbine is the standard-issue weapon of the U.S. Army soldiers in the film, many of which are customized with optical gunsights and foregrips.

A Colt M4A1 with an M68 Aimpoint sight and an RIS foregrip. Chambered for 5.56x45mm.
An M4A1 is used by Frater (Johnny Harris).
Both Michael (Sam Keeley) and Frater (Johnny Harris) carry their M4A1 carbines.

Norinco Type 56

Some enemy fighters who confront the squad are armed with the Norinco Type 56 rifle.

Machine Guns

FN M249 SAW

M249 (first pattern U.S. adopted variant of the original FN Minimi) - 5.56x45mm. The only noticeable change from the Belgian Minimi is the rear sight design and cut outs in the buttstock. Other minor changes would result in the M249-E1 and the M249-E2.
