The Mechanic (2011)
|
The Mechanic is the 2011 remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson thriller. The film stars Jason Statham and Ben Foster and was directed by Simon West (Con Air). This film would be followed by the 2016 sequel Mechanic: Resurrection.
The following weapons were used in the film The Mechanic:
Handguns
Custom Engraved Nickel M1911A1
A nickel plated M1911A1 is first used by Harry McKenna (Donald Sutherland). It is later used by his son Steve McKenna (Ben Foster). The gun has a Latin phrase, "Amat Victoria Curam", engraved on one side of the slide and its translation on the other. The translation is "Victory Loves Preparation". It is also supposed to be 30 years old. Close-ups of the gun reveal that the movie's armorer provided at least two different 1911s to represent the same gun; the first (seen in the third screencap) is built upon an Auto Ordnance frame, while the second (seen in the last screencap) is built upon an original U.S. Army-issue 1911A1 frame.
Beretta 92FS
A Beretta 92FS is seen disassembled on a table in McKenna's home. A Beretta is also seen being fired at Bishop and Steve as they rappel down a building.
Glock 17
Glock 17 pistols are used by Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) as well as by the men employed by Dean Sanderson (Tony Goldwyn). McKenna pulls a Glock from a couch when engaging some thugs.
Heckler & Koch USP
Harry McKenna gives his M1911 to Arthur Bishop, but when the latter uses the pistol, it turns into a Heckler & Koch USP in a continuity error. Bishop also takes a USP in 9mm off a guard and uses it while on the rooftop.
Heckler & Koch P9S
A thug is seen with a Heckler & Koch P9S after getting shot by Steve.
NAA Guardian
A thug threatens McKenna with an NAA Guardian.
SIG-Sauer P226
The SIG-Sauer P226 is the main handgun used by Steve McKenna (Ben Foster). A thug also holds the SIG on Steve.
SIG-Sauer P232
A contact of Bishop is seen holding a SIG-Sauer P232 while speaking with Bishop. The SIG is then specifically labeled on a picture.
Submachine Guns
FN P90
The FN P90 is the main weapon used by the guards employed by Dean Sanderson (Tony Goldwyn).
FN P90 TR
Some guards are armed with FN P90 TR (Triple Rail) submachine guns.
Heckler & Koch MP5K
The Heckler & Koch MP5K is carried by men guarding a drug cartel boss. Some of Sanderson's men are also armed with the MP5K.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
At the film's opening, a member of a security detail guard the cartel boss uses the Heckler & Koch MP5A2 with SureFire dedicated forend weaponlights to strike a driver whose stalled truck stopped a convoy.

FN F2000 Tactical
The FN F2000 Tactical assault rifle fitted with a Leupold CQ/T scope (mounted backwards) is seen being fired by Bishop.
Heckler & Koch G36C
Steve McKenna (Ben Foster) uses the Heckler & Koch G36C during an ambush.
Heckler & Koch SL8-1
A suppressed Heckler & Koch SL8-1 with blackened furniture is seen on a table while Bishop and Steve are training.

Mossberg 590 Compact Cruiser
A pistol-gripped Mossberg 590 Compact Cruiser shotgun (noted by trigger guard and safety) fitted with a saddle shell holder is also seen in a bag packed with guns. Underneath the Mossberg, the receiver of the FN F2000 is seen, but it doesn't appear the scope has been installed.
