Madsen LAR M/62, Fixed Stock - 7.62x51mm NATO

The Madsen Light Automatic Rifle was a Danish battle rifle designed as part of the next generation of select-fire service rifles following the end of WWII. Originally, the LAR was intended to be sold to the Finnish military, so in the early 1950s, the first version of the LAR was chambered in 7.62x39mm. However, the Finnish military rejected the LAR and ultimately adopted the Valmet M62, one of the reasons being that the LAR didn't take standard AK magazines. The designers then looked to sell the rifle to Western armies and rechambered it in 1959 in 7.62x51mm NATO, which became the M/62 variant. The M/62 had the option between a fixed wooden stock and a folding stock. This too failed to find buyers, as most militaries by this time had already adopted the FN FAL, and ultimately disappeared from production.
