In a continuity error, Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) is seen firing a Glock instead of the Beretta during the gunfight aboard the ship with the pirates.

A couple of the Filipino pirates that raid the Belafonte carry Beretta 92FS pistols. Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) takes one from a pirate and uses it during a shootout before he runs out of ammunition and throws it into the sea.

The "Heckler & Koch MP5A3" wielded by one of the pirates is in fact a pump action Airsoft version manufactured by HFC.
