Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman

Probably one of the earliest appearances of .357 Magnum revolver in a Hollywood movie. After Leon Poole (Wendell Corey) escapes from prison he acquires a Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman. The police officers remark on the fact that he has gotten hold of a gun better suited to kill elephants with. In one effective scene he uses it on his old Army sergeant (John Larch). The movie was filmed in September 1955 and the Model 28 was introduced in 1954. There is a strong possibility that this was the first appearance of the Model 28 in a movie.

Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snub

One of the suspects in the bank robbery ,at the beginning of the movie, uses a Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snubnose.
