Those who carry the handgun include Danny "Danno" Williams (James MacArthur), Chin Ho Kelly (Kam Fong) and Duke Lukela (Herman Wedemeyer). Other versions of the S&W are used by several criminals and suspects in the series.

The Smith & Wesson Model 10, also known as the Military & Police (M&P) and the "Police Special", is seen in the hands of officers of the Honolulu Police Department as well as many criminals in the series.
