Colt New Service

The Colt New Service revolver is seen carried by Maj. Daniel Xavier Kirby (John Wayne).

Model 1909 Colt Army Revolver - .45 LC. This model is stamped "Property of U.S. Government" under barrel and "M1909" on front bottom of grip strap. Grips not original - US issue bore plain uncheckered walnut.

The Browning M2 Aircraft appears as the primary armament of the Marines' fighter planes.

Japanese machine guns

The Japanese planes in the film are armed with six machine guns, three mounted on each wing. In reality, the Japanese in World War II never had any fighters with six machine guns in the wings, so these guns are likely mockups/acetylene gas guns.

Three machine guns are mounted in the Japanese fighter plane. In reality, the Japanese never had planes with this kind of armament.
