The monitor in this picture is a fake. The front sling mount is incorrect as well as the front sight. On a real Colt Monitor, the loop of the front sling mount is about an inch from the attachment point below the barrel and the front sight has a bent loop of sheetmetal around the front sight that's shaped like an "O" with a slit in the bottom so that it can slide over a cutout on the sides of the front sight. The rifle pictured has the standard military front sight. The cover (missing) for that sight is a piece of sheetmetal in an upside down "U" shape that presses over the top.
