This gun is not a Colt Lightning nor a Colt Thunderer. This gun is a Colt Single Action Army reproduction that has had it's backstrap altered to accept Colt Lightning style grips. The purpose of this is to create a gun that is visually similar to the Colt Lightning and Colt Thunderer, but to be legal in the various "Cowboy Action Shooting" clubs and societies, whose by-laws demand single action revolvers even though both the Star Revolver and the Colt Lighting/Thunderer were available double action revolvers during that era. I suggest removing this picture, or at least noting it is at best a visual substitute and not an example of the gun in question.
