Devotion is a 2022 Korean War film directed by J.D. Dillard and starring Jonathan Majors as Ensign Jeese Brown, the first African-American US naval aviator. Glen Powell stars as Lt. Tom Hudner, a fellow US naval aviator in his squadron who strikes up a friendship with Brown while serving together during the conflict. The feature was based on the 2015 book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice written by Adam Makos and was released in the US to theaters in November 2022.

Revolvers

Smith & Wesson Model M&P

Lt. Tom Hudner (Glen Powell) uses what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model M&P revolver as his sidearm. Ensign Jesse Brown (Jonathan Majors) also carries a Model M&P in his shoulder holster.

The checkered walnut medallion grips of the Smith & Wesson revolver carried by Ensign Jesse Brown (Jonathan Majors) suggest either a pre-1942 Victory Model or a standard Model M&P rather than the smooth wooden-gripped Victory Model contracted by the U.S. Navy.

Lt. Tom Hudner (Glen Powell) uses what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model M&P revolver as his sidearm.

Arisaka Rifle

An Arisaka rifle variant is used by PVA soldiers. This is historically feasible, as numerous Arisaka rifles leftover from Japan's occupation and wars in Korea and China were used by Communist forces in both nations.

Fighter plane armaments

Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23

The MiG-15 fighter that engages in a dogfight with VF-32 has a pair of Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23 cannons as its primary weapons. An actual MiG-15 was used for the film, from the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California.
