Cultic (stylized in all caps as CULTIC) is a 2022 first-person shooter video game created by Jason Smith under the name "Jasozz Games", and published by 3D Realms. The game is released in an episodic format, with the first chapter releasing in October 2022. As of the time of writing, there have been no other future chapters released, but future chapters may have new weapons. Inspired by the likes of Blood and Resident Evil 4, the story follows an ex-police officer who quits his job to investigate a strange string of murders surrounding a cult in the town of New Grandewel.

The following weapons appear in the video game Cultic:

Handguns

Mauser C96 "Red 9"

The Mauser C96 "Red 9" appears in-game simply as the "Handgun". It is the first firearm given to the player, and is a common weapon in the hands of cultists. Upgrades for the weapon include a carbine-style shoulder stock, a 15-round extended magazine (although the animations for reloading remain the same), and the ability to fire in a (fictional) 3-round burst mode. It is identifiable as the "Red Nine" variant by the fact that it shares ammo with the Sten. (As well as the fact that the Red 9 also appears in Resident Evil 4, a game that Cultic's creator has stated to be a major inspiration.)

Smith & Wesson Model 19

The Smith & Wesson Model 19 appears in game as the "Revolver". What's remarkable is that this is based on a very rare three-inch barrel version, only a few of which were ever made. It is only found in the "Interlude" prequel episode and takes up the same slot as the "Lever-Action". Upgrades for the weapon include an eight-round cylinder (although, like the C96, the in-game weapon is still modeled with a six-round cylinder) and the ability to 'fan' the revolver's hammer.

Submachine Guns

Sten Mk V

The Sten Mk V appears in game as the "Sten". It is the game's sole submachine gun, and shares an ammo pool with the C96. It holds 50 rounds by default; while this isn't strictly impossible (as Sten and Lanchester magazines are interchangeable), the magazine actually shown with the gun is a standard 32-rounder. It can be upgraded to hold an even more ridiculous 75 rounds.

Shotguns

Browning Auto-5

A sawed-off Browning Auto-5 appears in game as the "SASG", presumably an acronym for "Semi-Automatic ShotGun". Like the Revolver, it only appears in the "Interlude" prequel chapter.

Sawed off Double Barrel Shotgun

A Sawed off Double Barrel Shotgun appears in game as the "Shotgun". Unlike the Browning Auto-5, it lacks the ability to be used one-handed. It is one of the only weapons whose capacity is not able to be upgraded, for somewhat obvious reasons. It is often carried by cultists in red, and also twin-carried with a Sten in later stages by enemies in WWI-pattern armor (resembling the enemies from NecroVisioN) which can be quite problematic.

Rifles

FG 42/II

The FG 42/II appears as a sniper rifle, and is apparently also carried by the Sniper Cultists. By default, it only fires in semi-auto (even though the weapon is select-fire in real life) and has an under-loaded 10-round magazine (though the in-game weapon is still shown with a 20-round magazine), which can be upgraded to a still under-loaded 15-round magazine. Other upgrades include full-auto fire (barely useful, as is the larger magazine, because ammo is rare, and only starts to appear more or less toward the end; these features are probably reserved for Episode II), and a much more useful adjustable scope (one of the cheapest upgrades, costing only one parts kit). The FG 42 is one of the only two weapons in Cultic to go by its real-world name, the other being the Sten.

Winchester Model 1892 "Mare's Leg"

A Winchester Model 1892 "Mare's Leg" in .44 Magnum appears in game as the "Lever-Action Rifle". Despite the differences in caliber, it shares an ammunition pool (and a weapon slot) with the Smith & Wesson Model 19 in .357 Magnum. It is the second firearm given to the player after the C96, appearing as a secret weapon in the game's first level, "The Grave", and can be upgraded with an extended 11-round tube magazine (which, accordingly, returns it back to the usual length of the carbine, but this is not reflected in any way in the external appearance).

While it may seem like overkill at first (due to its not-so-high capacity and relatively slow reload time), the sawed-off rifle actually has good accuracy (despite the short barrel) coupled with decent damage, making it an ersatz sniper rifle (and it's still useful at medium range even when you pick up the FG 42). And yes, it can be launched in Terminator 2-style, on alt-fire or when carried out with one-hand.

Explosives

China Lake Launcher

The China Lake Launcher appears as the "Grenade Launcher". Its grenades are toggleable between impact-detonated and fuse-detonated grenades. Its upgrades include an extended six-round tube magazine (although like with all weapons, the in-game model still stays the same), and the ability to slam-fire the weapon. It is also used few times by an enemies in the game, by a high-ranking cultists in a red and gold robe when the protagonist approaches their lair.

"Incinerator"

A Custom-Built Flamethrower called the "Incinerator" appears in the game. It is an entirely fictional design and, according to the game, is powered by liquid fuel. (Most likely gasoline or some other highly flammable liquid.)

Thompson M1A1

What appears to be a Thompson M1A1 is carried out by one of the cultists on the cover, although it does not appear in the game itself.
