The Crook

The Crook - Le Voyou (1970)

The Crook (French title: Le Voyou) is a 1970 crime film by Claude Lelouch. The plot follows Simon 'the Swiss' Duroc as he escapes from prison, kidnaps the child of a bank worker and deceives friend and foe alike as he tries to escape France with one million American dollars.

The following weapons were used in the film The Crook (Le Voyou):

M1A1 Thompson

M1A1 Thompsons with drum magazines and foregrips are held and used by the Dancing Gangster in the opening "Le Voyou" musical.

M1A1 Thompson with 30-round magazine .45 ACP

Despite how cool it looks, twirling with a finger on the trigger probably isn't a good idea.

Another angle of the dance scene, this one clearly showing the different iron sight and bolt from the M1928 Thompsons.

The Dancing Gangster fires his Thompson. Too bad he doesn't see the cars packed with other mafioso behind him...

FN Model 22

An FN Model 22 is the preferred weapon of Charles (Charles Gérard), Simon's closest ally. He uses it to disable the car of French detectives chasing him and Simon's fiancée. Simon briefly holds one when shopping for a gun.

FN Model 1922 - .32 ACP

Charles reaches for a bar of soap with his FN Model 22 nearby. Careful, Charlie, bullets make a poor shampoo.

Charles disables the pursuing detectives' car with a single shot. This is one of the few times a gun is fired in the movie.

Simon handles a Model 22 before setting it down.

Smith & Wesson Model 36

A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is bought by Simon (Jean-Louis Trintignant, in his second role in a Claude Lelouch film) and used throughout the entire movie. It's worth noting that Simon loads blank cartridges in the revolver in the one scene where he actually fires it.

Smith & Wesson Model 36 - .38 Special

Bill spins the cylinder of the Model 36 before commenting it has a 'nice balance'.

Bill comments the price of the revolver is 'four bills' as Simon reaches for his wallet, S&W in-hand.

A Smith & Wesson release latch can be see as Simon holds up one member of the family that live where he stashed his kidnapping money.

Simon rests in a Belgian hotel as the revolver lays next to him.

M1911A1

Bill the arms dealer (Amidou) unloads a M1911A1 when he is selling guns to Simon. Another 1911 is used by Charles when he and Simon force Mr. Galloise to write a confession to the kidnapping of his son.
