The Zombie Walks (Im Banne des Unheimlichen (literally "Under the Spell of the Unknown"; DVD title The Hand of Power) is a 1968 German detective movie directed by Alfred Vohrer and very loosely based on the 1927 novel "The Hand of Power" by Edgar Wallace. Oliver Ramsey is killed in an airplane crash. During the funeral, eerie laugh sounds from inside the coffin. Soon a mysterious person dresses up in a skeleton costume begins murdering people who are connected with Ramsey family, using a poison-filled scorpion-shaped ring. Sir Cecil, the brother of the deceased, suspects that his brother isn't really dead. Inspector Higgins (Joachim Fuchsberger) teams with reporter Peggy Ward (Siw Mattson) to investigate the case.

The film is the 26st installment in the Rialto Film studio Edgar Wallace film series (1959-1972).
