X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an action-adventure hack-and-slash video game loosely based on the film of the same name. It was developed by Raven Software (known for Singularity and as the creators of the DLC maps in Black Ops) and published by Activision for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Nintendo DS. Hugh Jackman, Will I Am and Liev Schreiber reprise their roles seen in the film.

NOTE: Although the movie takes place in the 80's, this game is set in the present days, ergo none of the weapons are anachronistic.

The following weapons make an appearance in the video game X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

Self-loading Pistols

Colt M1911A1

The M1911A1 is used by Mystic and Wade during Operation: Firestorm. Several African helicopter pilots also use these pistols as their sidearms if Wolverine jumps onto their choppers. Colonel Stryker uses an M1911A1 to shoot Wolverine in the head with the Adamantium bullet.

World War 2 issued Colt M1911A1 Pistol - .45 ACP

Raven Darkholme/Mystic holds an M1911A1.

Wade holds an M1911A1.

John Wraith uses a nickel plated variant with black grips as his sidearm during Operation: Firestorm.

Nickel plated Colt M1911A1 Pistol - .45 ACP

John Wraith holds his sidearm. The texture erroneously suggests that the Colt has the ejection port the the top of the barrel, like a Beretta 92FS.

IMI/Magnum Desert Eagle

A nickel plated Desert Eagle (unknown variant) is used by Victor Creed during Operation: Firestorm.

Victor Creed holds his nickel plated Desert Eagle.

Rifles

AK-47

African mercenaries use AK-47s fitted with a wooden fore-grip. They are never seen reloading.

Izhmash AK-47 - 7.62x39mm

An African merc opens fire with his AK-47 on Wolverine who is hiding behind a barrel.

Two African soldiers stand with AKs. It can be seen that the fore-grip is not part of the handguard, as with the AIM/AIMS rifles.

Wolverine spares the life of a youngster during the assault on the African camp. The front sight of the kid's AK-47 can be seen nicely.

FN SCAR-H CQC

Stryker's soldiers use first generation FN SCAR-H CQC rifles fitted with grip, and aimpoint scope. The more elite soldiers also have flashlights and laser sights on their rifles. The creators later reused the same exact model in their next game, Singularity.

A closer look on the SCAR-H's buttstock shows that it is the First Generation model and not a Third Gen with a black finish. Also note that the "Ghost" in the background holds a futuristic shotgun heavily based on the H&K Close Assault Weapon System.

Accuracy International AS50

Instead of his SVD seen in the film, Agent Zero uses an Accuracy International AS50 to snipe down Wolverine. The sniper rifle has a night vision scope but lacks the rail system of the real life one.

Shotgun

FN Tactical Police Shotgun

John Wraith uses a FN Tactical Police Shotgun during the African mission to recover the meteor fragment. In the game this part takes place 3 years before "present days", making this shotgun acceptable.

Heavy Weapons

Milkor MGL-140

Milkor MGL-140 grenade launchers are used by Stryker's Grenadiers. The launcher is fitted with a fore-grip, aimpoint sight and a long bayonet for CQC. This launcher fires homing missiles instead of 40mm grenades. Wolverine can deflect those missiles with his claws to the sender to kill them easily.

Nothing is better than a little hand-to-hand combat. Of course visitors of IMFDB prefer the shooting.

The vertical grip is completely unnecessary with that large blade attached.

GE M134 Minigun

The M134 Minigun appears in the form of an automated turret at the Alkali Lake when Wolverine tries to escape.

Dillon Aero M134 with flash suppressor - 7.62x51mm. These are new model M134 Miniguns or just updated GE Miniguns which are usually seen with a different spade grip mount that were used during the Vietnam War.

Wolverine examines one of the turrets after managing to sneak behind it unnoticed.

In a cutscene several guards discuss how will this auto-turret finish Weapon X. These guys rest in pieces now...

Browning M2HB

Several Browning M2HB machine guns can be seen mounted on African boats. This is the only non-fictional weapon that can be used by Wolverine in the whole game.

Browning M2 Heavy Barrel - .50 BMG

Wolverine impales a soldier on the M2HB. Surely an ugly way to die...

Wolverine opens fire with the M2HB on the pursuing boats. The machine gun has unlimited ammo and cannot overheat. Convenient.
