Vietcong 2 is the sequel to the tactical first person shooter Vietcong. As in the first game, the player will take on the role of US Army Special Forces team leader, Captain Daniel Boone, during the Vietnam War. Unlike its predecessor, it is also possible to play as the Viet Cong in a short secondary campaign. Players take on the role of Minh, a young Vietnamese man from a village in South Vietnam. Both the US and Viet Cong campaigns take place in and around the city of Hue during the Tet Offensive of January 1968.
Vietcong 2 is the sequel of the tactical first person shooter Vietcong.

As in the first edition, the player will take the lead of a Special Forces team of the US Army during the Vietnam War, as the Captain Daniel Boone. Differently from is predecessor, this time is possible to play as a Vietcong in a short secondary campaign and act the part of Minh, a young Vietnamese from an unknown village in South Vietnam. Both US and Vietcong campaigns take place during the "Tet offensive" in January '68, around the city of Hue.

Arsenal management:
+
In single player one is allowed to carry a knife, a handgun, two primary weapons, two types of hand grenades, C4 explosives, a LAW, and a first-aid kit. Unlike Vietcong the player cannot choose their starting equipment during the campaign; this can only done in the "Single Mission" mode, where the player can play the missions one by one. With a few exceptions, the non-player-characters have randomly selected guns. Also notable some "weapon groups" for this random selection: earlier Vietcong may spawn armed with an SKS, a MAT-49 or a PPSh-41; NVA soldiers and later Vietcong are armed with an SKS, an Sa vz. 58 or an AK-47; VC machine gunners may have an Sa vz. 58 or an RPD for example. The exceptions are the teammates, the snipers, the RPG-7 gunners and the Vietcong armed with the Baikal IZh-43. However these last two types drop a randomly generated handgun.

Differently from Vietcong the player cannot choose his starting equipment during the campaign, this possibility is present only in the "Single Mission" mode, where the gamer can play the missions one by one. With few exception, the non-playing character haven not a "fixed" weapon but a casually selected weapon: it's easily notable that the most part of the enemy may be equipped with different guns each time you play a mission. Also can be noted some "weapon groups" for this variations: earlier Vietcong may spawn armed with a SKS or a MAT-49 or a PPSh-41, NVA soldier and later Vietcong are armed with a SKS or a SA Vz.58 or an AK-47, VC machine gunners may have a SA Vz.58 or a RPD-44 for example. The exceptions are the teammate, the snipers, the RPG gunners and the Vietcong armed with the Baikal IZH-43. However these last two gunman drop a casually generated handgun.

<br>Another notably odd (and ghastly) thing is that the most part of the weapon are chambered with a wrong caliber, but all these error will be described in the weapon details.

Another odd thing is that most of the pistol-caliber weapons are chambered for the wrong caliber; the specifics of these errors are described below.

The following list contains all the weapons that can be used or see in Vietcong 2:

Vietcong 2.jpg
Offical Boxart
Release Date: 2005
Developer: Pterodon Illusion Softworks
Publisher: 2k Games
Series: Vietcong
Platforms: PC
Genre: First-Person Shooter

Vietcong 2 is the sequel to the tactical first person shooter Vietcong. As in the first game, the player will take on the role of US Army Special Forces team leader, Captain Daniel Boone, during the Vietnam War. Unlike its predecessor, it is also possible to play as the Viet Cong in a short secondary campaign. Players take on the role of Minh, a young Vietnamese man from a village in South Vietnam. Both the US and Viet Cong campaigns take place in and around the city of Hue during the Tet Offensive of January 1968.

Another odd thing is that most of the pistol-caliber weapons are chambered for the wrong caliber; the specifics of these errors are described below.

The following weapons appear in the video game Vietcong 2:

Handguns

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 appears in-game as the "M-1911 A1".

Colt M1911A1 - .45 ACP
Holding the M1911A1.
Aiming.
Reloading.
Icon and world model.

Makarov PM

The Makarov PM appears in-game as the "Makarov". It incorrectly uses 9x19mm Parabellum.

Makarov PM - 9x18mm Makarov
Holding the pistol.
Aiming down the sights.
Reloading the PM.
Icon and world model.

Mauser C96

The Mauser C96 appears in-game as the "Mauser C96 mod.1912". It is incorrectly stated to be chambered in 9x18mm Makarov, even though the rounds in the clip are clearly not.

Mauser C96 - 7.63x25mm Mauser
Holding the C96. Note that it is incorrectly depicted as double action.
Aiming.
Reloading; a full clip will be loaded into the gun, no matter how many rounds are remaining.
Icon and world model.

Nagant M1895

An integrally-suppressed Nagant M1895 appears in-game as the "Nagant mod.1895 (silencer)". It is incorrectly chambered in .38 Special.

Aiming; due to the absolutely gigantic suppressor, a new set of iron sights are placed on top of it.
Reloading; the player character somehow ejects all the cases by tipping the revolver upwards.
Icon and world model.

Smith & Wesson Model 27

The Smith & Wesson Model 27 appears in-game as the "S&W mod.27". It is described as using .357 Magnum in multiplayer, but the ammunition itself is referred to as .38 Special.

Smith & Wesson Model 27 - .357 Magnum
The Model 24 in idle.
Aiming down the iron sights.
Reloading.
Icon and world model.

Smith & Wesson 39

Smith & Wesson 39 - 9x19mm Parabellum
Holding the S&W 39.
Aiming.
Reloading; unlike the previous game, it now uses the same animations as the Makarov.

Holding the MAC-10.
Iron sights.
Reloading.
Icon and world model.

MAT-49

The MAT-49 appears in-game under its real name. It is chambered in 9x18 Makarov in-game instead of the more common Vietnamese conversion of the MAT-49 to 7.62 Tokarev.

MAT-49 - 9x19mm Parabellum
Holding a MAT-49.
Aiming.
Reloading. Note the incorrect locked-back charging handle; it is also depicted as reciprocating in-game and it automatically snaps forward once the player character inserts a new magazine.
