Do you want to explain to me why you vandalized a page?

EDIT: I see you've made quite a few comments on various movie/TV show pages. So let me tell you right now: It's unnecessary, and some of what you've done borders on vandalism. Might want to stop it. -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]] 05:09, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

The additional commentary was a little childish and unnecessary at timesAlso there is a slight pecking order on IMFDB. If you were the creator of the page or did 99% of the work, then we let a little commentary slide as long as it isn't something that makes us look lame, immature or unprofessionalBut you're just putting little quotes into other pages, you're just adding silly little commentary to pages that others took a long time to get 'right'.  I can see how the members who built those pages would not appreciate it.   The unwritten rule is, don't mess with someone else's page unless you're correcting an error, typo or in some way appreciably improving it. Just an opinion from another MODERATOR here on IMFDB.  [[User:MoviePropMaster2008|MoviePropMaster2008]] 05:31, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

The description is deliberately vague to avoid needless spoilers. While fighting Makarov at the end is about as big a surprise as Mario fighting Bowser, it isn't really obvious from the image that the body is Soap (I deliberately didn't look at Soap so his name wouldn't appear and stood so you couldn't see anything distinctive) and I don't think it's really necessary to say it is. Eagle Eye

The description of how Jerry uses the Glock in the film was left purposely vague to not provide spoilers. --Ben41 20:43, 8 July 2011 (CDT)

Oh, I'm sorry. I'll fix that if it hasn't been already. My bad.

Bill Cosby

Cosby used a lot of weapons on the I Spy (TV Series). --Ben41 22:31, 9 October 2011 (CDT)

MW3 M1911

The description is deliberately vague to avoid needless spoilers. While fighting Makarov at the end is about as big a surprise as Mario fighting Bowser, it isn't really obvious from the image that the body is Soap (I deliberately didn't look at Soap so his name wouldn't appear and stood so you couldn't see anything distinctive) and I don't think it's really necessary to say it is. Southland

Thanks for your contributions to the Southland pages. In the future, please keep your captions a little shorter. The main point of the caption is to describe the weapon seen. There is no need to over explain every single plot point that pertains to the screenshot. --Ben41 (talk) 17:37, 2 March 2013 (EST)

Over-explaining won't happen again, but what's wrong with describing the context? People might do well to know *some* details if they see a screenshot of a cop laying on the ground firing his weapon. I won't spoil anything or over-explain, but is the policy to describe *nothing* but the weapon? Glock172 (talk) 22:40, 2 March 2013 (EST)

As it states in the Rules, Standards and Principles:

(e) Speaking in generalities is better than spe cifics, when describing events of the film or show. Saying "John Doe uses a Beretta 92FS throughout the film" is preferable to writing "John Doe uses a Beretta 92FS to avenge his brother's death and kill all his enemies by the end of the film". You can be very specific in identifying the weapon used, and still leave a little mystery for the visitor who may not have seen the film yet. -Ben41 (talk) 01:07, 10 March 2013 (EST)

The reason why your screenshots are changed out is because I'm usually waiting to put screenshots up until I can get an HD version that doesn't have any logos. --Ben41 (talk) 01:07, 10 March 2013 (EST)
Understood, I'll continue to try for good screenshots if you continue to change them. I really appreciate you uploading the HD shots!
I'm removing the screenshots because there are already too many screenshots for those weapons and the screenshots do not point out anything new other than it is from a different episode. I'm sorry to replace your screenshots, but the ones uploaded need to be of higher quality. --Ben41 (talk) 03:24, 14 April 2013 (EDT)
I am aware, and I appreciate you replacing my screenshots with higher quality ones, that's how it's been done since I started. I upload a shot, and someone (probably you) gets a higher quality one. I'm fine with that. However, I think the weapons show what goes on throughout the story of the show, when Cooper and Lucero are kidnapped, it's important IMO to show that the suspect uses Lucero's Beretta (etc.) Glock172 (talk) 14:36, 14 April 2013 (EDT)

Uploading Screenshots

If you mistakenly overwrite an existing screenshot, you can tap the "Revert" command in order to change it back. This is located in the "File History" box on the left when you click the image. You can then change the resolution from "600px" to "601px" to see the changed picture on the page.

It's best when uploading screenshots from TV, that you put the name and episode number in your filename, ex. for Southland Season 4 Episode 3, you could put as a filename: SouthS4E03 Beretta. --Ben41 (talk) 01:07, 10 March 2013 (EST)

Don't worry about putting "the episode" before every title since it already has the season and episode number. --Ben41 (talk) 01:23, 15 March 2013 (EDT)
That aside, can you not revert the edits I made to clarify certain pictures? I spent time on that, and I'd rather you discuss it with me before you completely remove it. I corrected some redundancy and specified important things, and I'm a little miffed that I worked on it just to have it be removed. Glock172 (talk) 16:41, 15 March 2013 (EDT)
