So since I am new to being an admin, I wanted to get your opinion on something. I recently deleted the page for [[Next of Kin]] because it was woefully lacking. Hours later, the one guy who had contributed to it in the first place, recreated the page with the exact same info... How do you guys normally handle this? If the user had a lot of contributions I would feel very different, but he doesn't... This is his only page. Thoughts? --[[User:Zackmann08|Zackmann08]] 13:18, 27 June 2012 (CDT)

Series Templates

The short answer is that yes, you need to create a new one. The longer answer is that (in theory) you could use parsing functions to making templates that are all based off of one template so that the new templates would all look the same, but this restricts the format and would take hours and hours of coding. Each template is different (compare the 1911 Template to the Tom Clancy template). Now what we could and I think should do, is change the sub-categories to something like "Media Seires" and "Gun Series" (separating 1911 from Tom Clancy). At the end of the day tho, eventually there are going to be a lot of templates but if you concern is that there will be a lot to sift through, there is always an easier way to add the template. When you create a new template, you know what its called and you add it to the pages as you create it. If you are creating a new page and need to add it to the template, and the template to the page, just go to another page in the series. In other words, if you are adding "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4" (no such thing... yet...), just go to the Modern Warfare 2 page and copy and paste the code from the bottom.

I've been spending a lot of time working on these templates and haven't really gotten any feedback from admins. It's also frustrating because there are a lot of things that I would like to do but can't since I'm not an admin. For example, I keep having to ask one of you guys to add a new template to the locked page... I'm not as much of a gun enthusiast as most of the people here, but I am a computer engineer with a lot of coding experience so I'm just trying to do my best to help out. I will kick around the idea of a generic template and try some different things but no promises... It will literally require hours of coding.

In the mean time, I would love to hear some feedback on the templates that I have already added. Are there other templates that you think could be useful? Throw ideas at me and I'll let you know what I think is doable. --Zackmann08 23:40, 17 June 2012 (CDT)

Also, I BEG you... please read my request about redirects In the forum... I cannot tell you how frustrating this is... --Zackmann08 23:44, 17 June 2012 (CDT)
Any thoughts? --Zackmann08 22:31, 18 June 2012 (CDT)

I did a little tidying up of the templates. Added some more subcategories. This should help to keep things from getting TOO cluttered. I'd really like to hear your thoughts. --Zackmann08 10:56, 21 June 2012 (CDT)

You are correct, and that is the beauty of using templates. Make the change in ONE place, it automatically changes everywhere else. :-) I SWEAR when I made the Pink Panther template, Pink Panther 3 was listed on IMDB and its not now... Maybe I saw it on Wikipedia?? Either way, I will fix it and I think you are right. Let's wait until a trailer has been released before adding it to the templates. :-) --Zackmann08 19:50, 21 June 2012 (CDT)

"The Killing" screenshots

You suggested to upload whole frame screenshots instead of capturing only weapons- well, due to heavy spoilers I may try to do it, but will have to warn other users who do not enjoy spoilers, is it better?

If I'll somehow get the HD quality images I'll change current ones to such, although I think the handgun is seen clear enough to identify it :)

GRAW2

Why can not I finish the PC version? --MTOOO 05:47, 20 June 2012 (CDT)

Template:Wrong Turn Series

Can you do me a favor and rollback Van Tu's edits to Template:Wrong Turn Series? --Zackmann08 09:32, 22 June 2012 (CDT)

So the guy removed the freaking template from his "pages" and screwed up the format... GRRRRR. --Zackmann08 09:38, 22 June 2012 (CDT)
I went ahead and restored the original version, but take a look at what he did... --Zackmann08 12:38, 22 June 2012 (CDT)

I agree. I'm less concerned with the template and more concerned with the fact that he removed it but yea... --Zackmann08 22:29, 22 June 2012 (CDT)

Van tu

So our good buddy Van Tu has created himself a second account and recreated the My Way (2011) page that you deleted. I know I'm not an admin and I don't want to over step but i think this guy needs to get the boot. He's violating rule after rule and has yet to respond to anyone's requests. --Zackmann08 11:28, 23 June 2012 (CDT)

I think he's created account number 3 now. I have a feeling "Leavemealone" is the same guy. --Funkychinaman 14:18, 24 June 2012 (CDT)
Yes, it's he. The same modus operandi. :) And this is number four: 18:52, 24 June 2012 Leavemealone (Talk | contribs) created new account User:Come with me (Talk | contribs). Greg-Z 14:40, 24 June 2012 (CDT)

Well... Damn

Oh well I guess I'll have to find another series that is acceptable on the site. Oh and since the page was nuked can you please delete the photos I took for it? Thanks Mr.Ice 00:43, 26 June 2012 (CDT)

Request for deletion

Please delete several files that I uploaded in past but now they are not used: File:Blastfighter-Revolver-4.jpg, File:Blastfighter-Revolver-6.jpg, File:Blastfighter-SPAS12-1.jpg, File:Blastfighter-SPAS12-11.jpg, File:Blastfighter-SPAS12-4.jpg, File:Blastfighter-SPAS12-9.jpg, File:Commando_Leopard-Rifle-2.jpg, File:The_Adventures_of_Sherlock_Holmes_and_Dr._Watson_-_Watson_revolver_-_placeholder.jpg. They all are in Delete category. Thanks in advance! Greg-Z 01:11, 26 June 2012 (CDT)

thanks

Many thanks! :-) --Zackmann08 09:14, 27 June 2012 (CDT)

Also, sorry for deleting 24: The Game. It truly seemed like it was not up to par. Looks like it's getting some work done on it tho. :-) Seems like sometimes when a page gets deleted people go "oh wait, I want to do that!" --Zackmann08 09:54, 27 June 2012 (CDT)
