The 12.7cm/40 Type 89 was a Japanese heavy anti-aircraft gun introduced before World War II, replacing the 12cm/45 Type 10 as the standard heavy AA gun aboard cruisers, battleships, and carriers during the war, as well as serving as the primary armament of the Matsu-class destroyers.
