The Turquoise Necklace (Colierul de turcoaze) is a Romanian 1986 adventure movie directed by Gheorghe Vitanidis and starring Florin Piersic as noble brigand Margelatu "The Yellow Rose". The plot is set in the Principality of Wallachia (modern Romania) before the Revolution of 1848. An Austrian banker and his daughter are kidnapped upon crossing the Wallachian border. Austria announce that Wallachian authorities must release the hostages in a week, otherwise the Austrian army will invade the country. "Justice and Brotherhood" organisation is wrongly accused of involvement in the affair, so they sent Margelatu to find and free hostages.

The movie is the fifth of the six about the adventures of Margelatu.

Handguns

Margelatu's Pepperbox

In all six movies Margelatu (Florin Piersic) carries his signature weapon, an eight-barrel pepperbox. The gun is a custom prop, generally resembling Lefaucheux and Francotte models but with separate barrels, like on Mariette Pepperbox.

Percussion Cap Pistol

Percussion Cap Pistols are seen in hands of Hare Lip (Szabolcs Cseh), Vincenzo Gonfalone (David Ohanesian) and other Agata Slatineanu's henchmen. Some of these pistols may be visually modified Single Barreled Shotguns (see below), but there is no closeups to prove or decline this guess.

Agatha's henchmen aims their pistol at Margelatu during the encouter at the Bucharest theatre.

One of two Hare Lip's pistols, used in the climactic scene, is a more or less genuine gun while another one is a visually modified shotgun.

Shotguns

Single Barreled Shotgun (visually modified as Percussion Cap Pistol)

One of Hare Lip's (Szabolcs Cseh) pistols turn out to be visually modified Single Barreled Shotguns with exposed hammer.

Izhmekh IZh-K (visually modified)

Full-stock Single Barreled Shotguns, visually modified by adding a long handguard and additional barrel bands, stand for muskets during the shootout on the marketplace. They aren't fitted with any kind of fake flintlock or percussion cap lock. The spur of the trigger guard and the groove on the stock, combined with the general shape, allow to make a decent guess that the shotguns are Izhmekh IZh-K (but there is a possibility that this is some other model, maybe of local Romanian production).

Rifles

Mauser Gewehr 1871 (visually modified)

Some muskets, seen in the movie, turn out to be visually modified bolt action Mauser Gewehr 1871 rifles, with removed bolt handles and fitted with mockup flintlocks. Unlike the The Mysteries of Bucharest, they aren't seen close, but the general outlook allows to make such guess.

In the scene on Austrian-Wallachian border a soldier at the foreground holds what appears to be a visually modified Mauser 1871. Another soldier's musket may be also a Mauser 1871 but it's hard to say for sure.

Muskets in barracks are also very likely Mauser 1871s.

During the shootout on the marketplace a soldier holds a musket that also is very likely a Mauser 1871.

Unidentified mockup muskets

Some muskets are obviously mockups, but the base gun isn't identified.

A cavalryman on Bucharest street carries a military style rifle with a mockup lock. The shape of the stock bears resemblance with full-length Berthier Rifles.

The musket barrel at the left, seen during the shootout on the marketplace, looks similar to the one of M1879 Peabody-Martini, seen in The Silver Mask but without a view of the breech it's impossible to be sure.
