In the beginning of the film two hunters hunting with Winchester Model 70s find the body of Melquiades Estrada (Julio Cedillo).

A Savage 99 is used by Sheriff Belmont to try and shoot Pete Perkins as he is riding along but he loses face and doesn't.

A Ruger Mini-14 along with another rifle are seen alongside several ranchers in Mexico. However this firearm would be illegal to own in Mexico, being chambered in .223 Remington - which is a military type caliber as all military calibers are banned in Mexico for civilian use. (Unless it were in 6.8SPC or .222 Rem which are two calibers offered by Ruger in Mexico.)
