Mauser Gewehr 98

A common misconception is that the rifles landed in Howth for the Irish Volunteers in 1913 were the Mauser Gewahr 98. It was in fact the long obsolete Mauser 1871 single shot bolt-action rifle. However the Gewhar 98 (or G98) is featured most prominently in the hands of Teddy Boy.

Mauser Kar 98a

Damien (Cillian Murphy) carries a Mauser Kar 98a throughout the film.

Mauser Kar 98 K

A Mauser Kar 98K is seen in several scenes in the film - an anachronism as the 98K was not introduced until 1935, and the film is set in 1920-1922. The armorer likely ran out of First World War Mausers.
