The Way to Dusty Death is a 1995 made for TV thriller movie directed by Geoffrey Reeve and loosely based on the 1962 novel by Alistair MacLean, starring Linda Hamilton and Simon MacCorkindale. Johnny Harlow (MacCorkindale), world champion racing driver, suspects that the death of his friend in a racing crash wasn't an accident but a planned murder. The investigation leads Harlow to the international crime ring that uses the car racing team, owned by the recent widow of the former owner Beth MacAlpine (Hamilton), for the diamond trafficking.

The following weapons were used in the film The Way to Dusty Death:

Smith & Wesson Model 15

A guard in Vincennes' estate is armed with a revolver that is supposed to be a Smith & Wesson Model 15.

Walther PPK

A hitman, credited as "The Man with the Dog" (Pieter Riemens), carries a Walther PPK. Alexis Dunetskaya (Serena Scott Thomas), a Russian agent who teamed with Harlow, also carries a Walther PPK. Johnny Harlow (Simon MacCorkindale) uses Alexis' pistol in the climactic scene.

Rifles and Assault Rifles

Steyr AUG A1

The second bodyguard of the diamond buyer is armed with a Steyr AUG A1. One or two officers of the German police tactical unit also carry AUG assault rifles.

In the climactic scene two of Vincennes' henchmen are armed with AK-47s (AKS-47s are also possible as the buttstocks aren't seen).

Heckler & Koch HK91A2

One of the officers of the German police tactical unit is armed with a Heckler & Koch HK91A2 semi auto rifle. It is identified by the lack of the paddle magazine release and the selector without the third position for automatic fire. Strangely, the rear sight is removed from the rifle.

Unidentified sniper rifle

A long gun with sniper scope is briefly seen in hands of an officer of the German police tactical unit. Judging by the general appearance, it may be a scoped Heckler & Koch G3 or variant (hardly a G3SG/1 as the screen gun has definitly a slimline forearm, and hardly a PSG-1 or MSG90 as the barrel isn't long enough).

Other Weapons
