Remington 1866 Derringer

John Wayne carries one of these small pistols hidden, and uses it at the beginning of the movie

Winchester 1894

Wayne carries one of these rifles, with a large loop lever, just like the one he used in other films like True Grit, but he doesn't shoot it, and we never see it closely

Great Western

These Single Action Army Replicas, made in the 50's, were the revolvers used by John Wayne in the film. These were a set of 2 engraved revolvers presented to him by the defunct Great Western company.

http://www.shootmagazine.com/articles/firearms/great_western.htm According to John Taffin, the revolver that is thrown through the Saloon by Ron Howard, is not one of the Great Westerns, but a movie prop, made using a Ruger Blackhawk, modified to look like a SAA.
