The Sadness (Mandarin title: 哭悲, Kū bēi; lit. "Crying") is a Taiwanese horror film directed by Canadian filmmaker Rob Jabbaz, in his feature directorial debut. The film stars Berant Zhu and Regina Lei as Jim and Kat, a couple in Taipei that finds themselves separated in the middle of an outbreak of the Alvin virus, a fast-spreading virus that turns those infected with it into extremely sadistic and depraved psychopaths. The film follows their attempt to reach each other in the middle of the virus' rapid spread, as well as their encounters with the infected. With the movie's budget funded entirely by director Jabbaz's cryptocurrency savings and the revenue from one of the producers' cam girl business and first released in its native Taiwan in 2021, The Sadness would receive positive critical feedback for being a unique take on the zombie genre, with its almost all-practical blood and gore effects also gaining recognition.
The following weapons were used in the film The Sadness:
Glock 17
Glock 17s are used by multiple police officers. Dr. Alan Wong (Wei-Hua Lan) also uses a Glock 17, which is apparently 3D-printed in its entirety. This is unrealistic for a couple of reasons: first, the pistol would not be strong enough to bear the pressure of the amount of rounds he fires, and would likely not function at all, and secondly, the gun itself appears to be a completely normal 2nd Generation Glock, though it changes into a 3rd Gen in a continuity error.
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
A Mk 2 hand grenade is used by an infected general (Chang-Han Liou) to kill the president of Taiwan (An-Long Cai) in a live broadcasted speech.
