The Meeting at High Snows (a direct translation of the original title Vstrecha u vysokikh snegov) is a 1981 Soviet adventure mini series directed by Zinoviy Royzman. In early 1900s Dzhuma Saidov, a villager from Russian Turkestan, is unjustly sentenced to hard labor in Siberia. Dzhuma manages to escape, joins a gang of highwaymen, then participates in Russian Civil war in White Army, changes sides and enters Red Army, and after the war, in 1920s, he at last returns to his native land. Taking part in the struggle against Basmachi, Dzhuma uncovers that their leader Khudayberdy is his own son, born while Dzhuma was in prison, and brought up by Dzhunma's old enemy Appanbai.
The following weapons were used in the film The Meeting at High Snows (Vstrecha u vysokikh snegov):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
In several scenes in all three episodes Nagant M1895 revolvers are used by Dzhuma Saidov (Nazim Tulakhodzhayev). Also Nagants are seen in hands of Konstantin Ivanovich Zubov (Les Serdyuk), Ekaterina Zubova (Natalya Brazhnikova), Matvey Kolosov (Valeri Kozinets), and some minor characters.
Note: see additional images on talk page.
Warnant Revolver
A commander of basmachi gang Abdulla (uncredited) carries a Warnant revolver in one scene in Ep.2. The screen revolver has a spur on trigger guard, unlike the sample. Such feature, styled after Smith & Wesson No.3 Russian Model, appears on Warnant Russian Model revolver.
Pistols
Mauser C96
Mauser C96 pistols are used by several characters, including robbers chieftan Timokha "The Earring" (Avgust Baltrusaitis), Red sailor Aleksandr Feofanov (Valeri Olshansky), Chief of local Cheka Konstantin Zubov (Les Serdyuk), member of Kokand Revolutionary Committee Mukhtarov (Bakhadyr Yuldashev), and Qurboshi Khudayberdy (Dzhanik Fayziev).
Note: see additional images on talk page.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
In Ep.1 soldiers, prison guards and robbers in Siberia use Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles, standing for original M91s. Later M91/30 rifles are seen in hands of Red and White soldiers.
Note: see additional images on talk page.
Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbine
Many Red soldiers and Chekists, including Dzhuma Saidov (Nazim Tulakhodzhayev), Sabir Shukurov (Isamat Ergashev), Khamidov (Dzhamal Khashimov), and others, carry anachronistic Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbines in Eps.2 and 3.
Note: see additional images on talk page.
Karabiner 98k
Basmachi widely use anachronistic Karabiner 98k rifles. Hunter Shadman (Shukhrat Irgashev) carries a 98k rifle in Ep.3.
Note: see additional images on talk page.
Unidentified Mauser Rifles
In one scene in Ep.3 a Red soldier carries a full-length Mauser rifle. It has turned down bolt handle but other details are unclear. Karabiner 98b is a possible but not confirmed guess.
In one scene in Ep.3 a Basmach carries a carbine length Mauser rifle. It has straight bolt handle. Vz.24 Czech Mauser rifle is a possible but not confirmed guess.
Enfield P14
In Ep.3 several characters are seen with Enfield Pattern 14 rifles (both models can be found in Soviet movies).
Ross Mk III
Several Ross Mk III rifles are seen in a pile of weapons, captured from Basmachi, in Ep.3.
Mosin Nagant "Obrez"
Mosin Nagant "obrez" sawed-off rifles are used by Siberian highwaymen, including Timokha "The Earring" (Avgust Baltrusaitis) and Dzhuma Saidov (Nazim Tulakhodzhayev), in Ep.1 and by Basmachi in Eps.2 and 3.
Shotguns
Mosin Nagant/Frolov Shotgun "Obrez"
Several characters use "obrez" sawed-off guns that appear to be based on "Frolovka" shotgun (some versions of "Frolovka" lacked the protruding magazine). It appears to be a single prop, reused in several scenes.
Single Barreled Shotgun
Some of Timokha's brigands are armed with Single Barreled Shotguns in Ep.1 (possibly some IZh model).
Machine Guns
Maxim M1910
In several scenes Red troops use Maxim M1910 machine guns.
Maxim M1910/30
Anachronistic Maxim M1910/30 of post-1940 version are also seen.
