The Fear is a 2015 French war drama directed by Damien Odoul based on the 1930 novel of the same name by Gabriel Chevallier. France 1914. 19-year-old Gabriel and his friends Bertrand and Théophile volunteer for war. The young men are full of curiosity and anticipation, for them, all this is a great adventure until they catch up with the reality of brutal slaughter on the front line. Théophile and Bertrand fall victim to the war - one goes insane, the other dies on the battlefield, and Gabriel tries not to lose his mind between all the disillusionment, hatred, and despair in the trenches.
