Unknowns

A SEAL sniper sets up a rifle.

Am thinking that is an Heckler & Koch HK417 in a DMR/sniper configuration. --Charon68 (talk) 00:18, 7 January 2013 (EST)

Looks like it to me. Spartan198 (talk) 11:39, 7 January 2013 (EST)

Just saw the movie on IMAX last night and I agree that it's gotta be an HK417. ISS appears to have bought a couple of them in the last year (one was used in a recent episode from Season 4 of NCIS: Los Angeles).
Also, did anyone notice anything strange about the firearms sound effects during the scene where Maya gets ambushed while leaving her house? The AKs and MP5 used in the scene almost seemed to make a "whistling" sound when fired. -MT2008 (talk) 17:04, 12 January 2013 (EST)
Eh... I've been tempted, but have held off so far. I heard from a friend back in September that a boycott of the movie was spreading among the SEAL teams (and still gaining strength, from my last conversation with her) over the issue of the production team being given classified information about the raid by the CIA and decided to tack myself onto it. I'll probably see the movie eventually, but most likely not until it's on TV. I'm certainly not going to be putting my bucks into its GR. Spartan198 (talk) 17:58, 15 January 2013 (EST)
AFAIK, there's nothing in the movie's raid scene that differs greatly from other publicly-released accounts like No Easy Day. The scene itself is pretty similar to how it was described in No Easy Day with minor differences. --Markit (talk) 20:01, 15 January 2013 (EST)

Title

On another note, what exactly does "Zero Dark Thirty" mean? Spartan198 (talk) 17:59, 15 January 2013 (EST)

"Zero Dark Thirty" refers to the military designation for half past midnight, the time at which, the raid against Osama Bin Laden's compound was launched. On a sidenote, I think you should definitely check the movie out. The scene of the actual raid is one of the most expertly crafted and realistic I've ever seen. Also, as far as I know, the whole "inside information" thing is a myth. - Phalanx

Armed guards at Camp Chapman aren't CIA SAD agents, but Blackwater employees

See this article about the attack on Camp Chapman in 2009.

The film didn't portray them as CIA agents either.
