-The firearm pictured and in the movies listed is a Mk.VI. The Mk.VI was the first model with the squared grip, the Mk.I through Mk.V had a pointed "bird's head" grip. The Mk.VI was also the first to be standardised with the 6" barrel, the earlier models were only sometimes fitted with it - the standard configuration being a short 4" barrel.

All these different pages are like if we had a seperate page for every different model of the 1911 pistol series.
