Metal Storm

I don't suppose anyone could get a screencap of the Metal Storm pistol used in the game?

(Watch the site again, i changed a lot!)

ripped off

I bought a copy of this game at Big Lots for about $7 and when played it all the game environments were tye dye-S&Wshooter 20:56, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Maybe something wrong with your disk on that, take it back. That's Big Lots for you. --Camden Hennis 18:18, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Take it back and get Dark Sector. Vangelis 21:05, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Or even better, The Orange Box.-Oliveira 21:06, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Dark Sector sucks and I already have the Orange Box-S&Wshooter 21:29, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Is your graphics card incompatible or something? This is a budget title, after all. --Mazryonh 14:57, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

This was clearly one of the many next gen titles that got shelved mid production and got shelved, slapped together at a later date, and sold almost completely unfinished. I don't think it's fair to say it was ripped off.--Jackie.45Cal 17:12, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Well, I think the producers are onto something, the enemy AI actually react to the shots, versus Rainbow Six Vegas 1 or 2, where they target takes three shots to the body and acts like nothing happened. And furthermore, the dismemberment is a nice touch, loved that about Call of Duty 5. The downsides however are; The weapons need to do more damage, for realism. Second, it would have been better for the engine to actually USE the sights on the weapon versus bringing the weapon up halfway and keeping the the reticle on-screen. --Camden Hennis 18:18, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

pics

Anyone want to replace all the pictures of real guns on this page? The Weapon Lord dude apparently didn't know how to search for guns we already have and copy and paste the image code. I deleted all the unnecessary pictures he uploaded, but I'm not fixing this page. One of you video game guys can do it. -MT2008 01:37, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Done.--Camden Hennis 18:20, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Removed the incorrect comments

Some of the comments on the guns were false so I removed them. Plus the Glock 18C is just a Glock 19. It needs to HAVE a COMPENSATOR in order to have the C designation. --FIVETWOSEVEN 19:02, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Innaccurate ammo counter

VLE has three rounds per barrel. There are four barrels. That's twelve. They need to learn to do math because that's still six shots off. Where the f*&k do the other bullets dome from? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

XM8 Mod

Someone has to change the idea of the XM8 only being in game with a mod. I own the game, never modded a day in my life, and it's in my arsenal. I unlocked it after the jungle missions. Didn't have to do a thing... Now the Tavor rifle, must be a mod. I've completed the game and have never seen it, so I think they're right on that. --Camden Hennis 18:05, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Rewrite, please

The description texts should be rewritten. Sentences like this "The H&K MP5SD5 is a 9mm Sub Machine Gun fitted with an intergral suppressor." should not be here. Things like this belong to the weapon's page not here. I would rewrite it but I don't own or know anything about this game. Hyperlinks need to be added also. bozitojugg3rn4ut 14:57, 26 March 2011 (CDT)

This game had some real potential. Lots of different places to fight loads of bad guys with loads of RL guns which can be individually outfitted before a mission. Sadly it seemed to be rushed into selling since it really feels unfinished. The sound of the guns is too loud compared to the rest of the environment and sometimes its really difficult to get your bearing, not to mention its hard to actually see a plot. Which is why i got rid of it.

But good work so far on the whole screencapping. Just one thing i noticed: the AG36 is IMO supposed to be a M320 (with the foldable GL target sight on the left side). WARthog 15:33, 11 May 2011 (CDT)

PNGs

I will replace the PNGs with JPGs in the upcoming days. I will put the PNGs here so a mod can delete them when I am done. bozitojugg3rn4ut 15:26, 8 May 2011 (CDT)

Really a PKM?

Are you sure that that's a PKM? The shortened barrel, carry handle and bipod placement make it look like a PKP Pecheneg to me. I could well be wrong, so what does everyone else think? Jimmoy 08:02, 12 May 2011 (CDT)

Well, let's pretend that SoF Payback is a movie and not a video game. If they'd have build that PKM as a prop, they would probably make it from a PKM and not by modifying a PKP. Also, the PKP does not have any wooden parts. That's why I wrote that it is a PKM. Anyways, I will add "heavily modified" and a pic of the PKP so it won't confuse the people. bozitojugg3rn4ut 10:04, 12 May 2011 (CDT)

Box art

Hi, shouldn't we add the M4 variant of the box art to the article?--Benny Frandsen 08:43, 17 March 2012 (CDT)

If it was included I have no idea what we would call it though, as it is a messed up fictional hybrid. It has a slabside lower with HK MP5N style fire selector (not just the pictogram like some companies actually do, but the positions are wrong for an AR-15), A2 upper but missing the forward assist, and an A1 profile barrel. Closest match would be something like a Model 723, but that still has a few differences. --commando552 11:29, 17 March 2012 (CDT)
I know that aftermarket parts exist, but is there any company that makes AR-15-type guns with ambi selectors? - bozitojugg3rn4ut 15:54, 17 March 2012 (CDT)
Not that I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure though that out of the hundreds of companies that make AR-15 (or in most cases assemble them from a variety of after market parts) some choose to use one of the many after market ambi selectors out there. The one on this gun is just the regular safety slapped on the wrong side though, ambi safeties look different due to the fact that the part of the safety on the right hand side has to be attached to the bar that goes through the lower receiver so will have a screw in the centre. It wasn't the fact that it was ambidextrous that I particularly had a problem with though, but the fact that the geometry of it wouldn't work. If the selector was in the safe position, the tab would be pointing upwards which would be impossible due to the rear part of the lower receiver that gets wider where the buffer tube joins (and would also be very difficult to reach). Also, on an AR-15 the three positions would be over a 180 degree arc, as opposed to on this where all three positions are in less than 90 degrees. Put together, it appears to me like the artist liked the MP5 pictograms and drew the selector without thinking too much about it, rather than being taken from an actual ar-15. --commando552 18:58, 17 March 2012 (CDT)
